The research group for operational meteorology at IGEWE has the mission of collecting, verifying, updating, digitizing and archiving meteorological and agrometeorological observations (including phenomenological observations) in accordance with the WMO standards. Moreover, it provides information on extreme events to the national institutions in Albania and assesses forest fire and flood risks.
