Special Session “HPC and BigData: Algorithms and Applications”, LSSC’17, June 5-9, 2017, Sozopol, Bulgaria

The 11th International Conference on Large-Scale Scientific Computations (LSSC’17) June 5-9,2017, Sozopol, Bulgaria, was organized by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies at Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IICT-BAS) in cooperation with  Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). Traditionally, the purpose of LSSC’17 is to bring together scientists working with large-scale computation of environments, biomedical and industrial problems.

During this conference a special session: “HPC and BigData: Algorithms and Applications” was organized by A. Karaivanova (IICT-BAS), E. Atanassov (IICT-BAS), and T. Gurov (IICT-BAS). This special session sought to bring together current research using High-performance computing and data-intensive computations in field of Life Sciences, Climatology and Digital Cultural Heritage.
